After graduation, Sari lived in New York City for 10 years, where she practiced at The YAI Gramercy School and worked for NYC Early Intervention home-based services. She also began her own private practice, working with children and their families in their Manhattan homes.

In 2008, Sari moved to Los Angeles. Since 2009, she has worked in the public school system and also maintains a private practice, providing home-based concierge Occupational Therapy & Executive Function Coaching services to children in the comfort of their own homes.

Sari is board certified by the National Board for Certification of Occupational Therapy (NBCOT). She has additional certifications in:

– Sensory Integration Theory and Practice (SIPT)

– The Safe and Sound Protocol (SSP)

– ADHD Rehabilitation & Treatment (ADHD-RSP)

– Handwriting Without Tears® Certified Instructor

Sari specializes in supporting students’ academic success and helping parents understand a child’s learning strengths and areas of growth. She continues to take continuing education courses in areas related to childhood development, school success, and therapeutic techniques to provide the best quality of care to the children she works with.

“As an occupational therapist I get to look at a child as a “whole” and address so many different aspects of his/her life in order to be an active, successful learner in school and participate physically and socially in a variety of activities.  I have always practiced with a team-centered approach, as it is essential that parents and teachers are all involved in the child’s road to success.   In each child’s therapy session I find enjoyable and innovative ways to help him/her achieve their goals.”  – Sari Ockner OTR/L
